Today Ethan played with some of his magnets on his fancy new magnetic board...a baking tray from Poundland! I looked around for a nice magnetic board, but they were all a bit expensive (and often had bad reviews of being flimsy) so we went for something very simple and perfect for us to use. Ethan enjoys playing with magnets on the fridge, and this gives him a chance to sit and play with them in his lap for as long as he likes. While playing with magnets Ethan is learning about how they work as part of his Knowledge and Understanding of the World.
We have a set of magnets from Jojo Maman Bebe of a bunny and some clothes to dress him up, as well as a Peppa Pig set that came free with a magazine. Being able to sit with these sets in front of him gave Ethan a chance to properly dress up the characters, name all of the items of clothing and try out different combinations. A really fun and simple activity that kept him busy while I was making his dinner, perfect!
