Top Ten Flower Math Activities

It's spring time and that means that it's time to make everything flowery and lovely, bring the outside inside on rainy days and all the fun outside on sunny days!  So we're looking for fun ways to do math activities using flowers, and we found ten fantastic ways!

Just yesterday we made these Number Bond Flowers that we have been playing with and learning some simple addition and subtraction skills.

Over on Nurturestore they've got some Flower Number Games with sort of a similar idea, but more advanced for older children and so very much prettier!  And if you're looking for an activity for younger children working on counting and number recognition, I love this Flower Petal Math over on No Time for Flash Cards.  For an even more hands on alternative you can try this Spring Flower Math Craft from SugarAunts.

If you're looking to get the play dough out for some squishy fun then your first stop should be these printable Play Dough Flower Mats from Learn with Play at Home.  Then you've got to try this fantastic Plant the Flowers Game from Fun a Day, that the kids will absolutely love!

If you're looking for great printables, I love this Preschool Flower Petal Counting Game from My Mundane and Miraculous Life.  As well as this Preschool Math Flower Dice Game from I Heart Crafty Things.  And this Number Flower Garden from Adventures of Adam is fantastic for number recognition and a host of other fun activities.

If you're lucky enough to have a nice day to take the fun outside, then you've got to go for a Flower Hunt By Colour like they did on Mom Inspired Life.  Such a fun way to get the kids working on their math and colour skills outside.

This post is part of a Top Ten Blog Hop of fantastic ideas to do with flowers, who knew there were so many amazing activities out there just waiting to be tried, check them out!
