No Dull Days with Bassetts Vitamins

12:07

The days are growing colder and darker by the minute.  It was actually dark on the way home from Ethan's after school karate lesson yesterday, and this is definitely the time of year when our routines have to change completely.  We still like to get outside and play as much as possible, but now it takes a bit more planning and bundling up before we get out there!

Over half term we had lots of outdoor adventures, we were able to put on our gloves and go for scooter and bike rides, we dug out our thermals and boots to go pumpkin picking and we even spent a very chilly day on the rides at Legoland (affiliate link)!

We love to go out in the evening when it gets darker earlier, it's a chance to bring some glow sticks and fun flashlights out and make our own light!  We had so much fun trick our treating in the dark for Halloween night and we can't wait to go out this weekend and watch some fun fireworks for Bonfire Night!

In the lead up to Christmas we also love an outdoor adventure, fingers crossed that we'll get some snow this winter!  As a Canadian, I definitely miss the snowy winters and always hope that Ethan and Ivy will love the snow as much as I do.  So we are hoping for a white Christmas this year.

Of course a lot of times the weather is just too cold and rainy or we're just not feeling well enough to get outside.  And that's when we have a bit of hygge indoors, do some crafts, play some games or just spend time reading together.  These are great days too, but as we will be getting less time in the fresh air and sunshine it's so important that we get the right vitamins.  Vitamin D and Calcium are vitally important for children’s development. They each help to support healthy muscle function, healthy teeth and healthy bones - in fact, Vitamin D and Calcium are both necessary for normal bone growth and development in children.

Public Health England advise that everyone needs an average daily intake of 10 micrograms of vitamin D (10µg), to protect their bone and muscle health; with much of this intake coming from sunlight during the spring and summer, the Department of Health experts now recommend that during autumn and winter everyone should consider taking a daily supplement containing 10 micrograms of Vitamin D.  To help parents ensure their children meet this level, Bassetts Vitamins has launched a new 3-6 Multivitamins +Vitamin D & Calcium.  A unique offering with all the benefits of a standard multivitamin, but added Vitamin D and Calcium in a delicious Peach & Apricot flavour, Ethan and Ivy say that they taste delicious and always remind me to get them out each morning!  And, as we're always looking for healthier options, it’s been made with natural flavours and colours, and no added sugar.  They cost just £5.50 for pack of 30 pastilles.

Bassetts Vitamins supports and celebrates those fun moments families share in their daily lives… never a dull moment?  Let’s keep it that way!  Wouldn't it be nice to have a healthy winter and keep the kids active and ready to play every day!
