A House to Play In - The Playroom

07:30

We've been in our new house for nearly three months now and we are absolutely loving it!  It's all coming together slowly and today I'm showing you our playroom area (the space between the kitchen and living room).

Of course we have the toy storage area, which even when I wanted to photograph it couldn't be quite tidy enough, but that is real life as it's the area that we play in the most!  The storage unit is from IKEA and is full of blocks, musical instruments, toy people and animals, puzzles, trains and toy food.  The top is just stacked with toys that make their way there throughout the day!  Above the toys is a washing line that the kids made which holds all of their recent artwork and Ethan's reward chart.  Beside it you can just see the children's table and chairs, also from IKEA.

Next we have our reading corner on our comfy Cosyplay mat (which we still love and use everyday) bins of books, number baskets and our adorable reading tent!  The tent is the cutest little Owl Play Tent from GetGo.  It's different from any play tent I've seen before as you twist it at the top to open it and close it, meaning that it's really easy to put up and down and that I can easily put it away in it's case when I want to use that space for other things.  But we spend a lot of time with it up, as the kids love to sit in there and read their books!

My favourite part of the room has to be my craft storage unit, I call it mine even though it's full of the kids craft supplies, because it just makes me so happy to have it all organised! The storage unit again is from IKEA, and I just love the boxes that fill the openings completely so that all of our mess is hidden away.  I now have space for play dough, paint supplies, craft kits, craft supplies, colouring tools, stickers and sticker books, colouring books and paper as well as room for all of our sensory box fillers and tools.  It makes me so happy to easily find everything and to tidy up after our craft sessions so quickly.

The kids are loving this WOW Playmat because they have another place to play with all of their WOW cars and vehicles.  I love that it's nice and big so that they can both play on the mat together, or if it's one of those days that they just can't share it's big enough that they can each have their own side (and their own box of toys!) It's got great roads to drive around on as well as different scenes in each corner to play in, there's so much to do that it can keep them busy for hours.  And as it's a mat it's so easy to roll up and put away in the corner at the end of the day.  And we get to give one away, enter here if you would like to win a playmat of your own.

And that's it, now you've seen Ivy's bedroom, Ethan's bedroom and the playroom!  Take a look at our Pinterest board for more house to play in inspiration!
