Today we played with threading beads. I was reading the Child Development book the other day and saw that for 18 months children should be able to thread beads, but of course we didn't have any for Ethan to practice on. I searched and most beads seem to say for 3 years and up, these are from 2 and up, so if you do buy them please be sure to keep an eye on your little one while they play.
Ethan was really interested in these beads and how they work. He hasn't yet mastered the threading, but was having fun exploring them and watching me thread them onto the string. Today I helped him by holding his hand to put the beads on the string, but I am sure as his fine motor skills develop further he will be putting them on himself (part of his Physical Development).
