Beach Small World in a Jar Craft

07:00

There is no doubt in my mind that the beach is Ethan and Ivy's absolute favourite place to be at any time of year!  So we decided to make our own little beach small world with sea shells that we collected on our recent trip to Cornwall.

What you'll need to make a Beach Small World in a Jar craft:
  • wide mouthed jar or large clear yogurt pot
  • blue glitter paint
  • Bostik White Glu
  • sand
  • seashells
  • water
  • small people toys

We started by mixing together some of our blue glitter paint with some glue and painted it all around the inside of the large yogurt pot.

Once that had dried we mixed together some sand and glue and painted it along one side of the pot.  We then added more glue and sprinkled some sand onto that side as well.

Once the glue had dried we tipped out any excess sand before gluing in a few seashells onto the sand.

And just like that it was ready to play with, so we added a few little toy people and fish and the children played out a day at the beach in their small world.  (We are going to need some smaller people though!)

Pin this idea for later:
