Painting Thank You Cards

07:30

Ivy recently turned three, and the lucky little girl received a lot of fabulous gifts, so of course she had a lot of people to thank for their generosity.  I love that the children are now old enough to create their own thank you cards, so our plan now is always to use blank cards to create masterpieces to send to thank everyone.

What you'll need to make our painted thank you cards:

I love how simple this idea is, but how special and personal the cards end up looking. Because Ivy is not yet old enough to write her own cards (or even her own name) she gets to design and create the front of the cards and I do the writing inside.  But when it's Ethan's turn to do thank you cards I let him do some of the writing as well.

For these cards we have previously used watercolour paints, but this time we decided to try our new Paint Sticks from Little Brian.  They are so fun, completely mess free, bright and colourful and they dry almost instantly.  The kids really enjoyed experimenting with them and drawing a variety of different designs.

When they were finished there was no mess to clean up and I just quickly piled up the cards and got started on writing the thank you messages.  It literally could not have been easier, and these Paint Sticks will definitely be coming out a lot, whenever we want to get creative without the mess.  I may even bring them on holiday with us!
