Ivy's Disney Themed Fifth Birthday Party

11:57

It is hard to believe that my little girl has turned five!  But we had a lovely time celebrating, and after our trip to Disneyland Paris she was inspired to have a Disney themed birthday party.  It was all things Disney, not just princesses (though they did feature quite a bit!)

We had the party at a gymnastics venue, so the children spent the first hour running, jumping and balancing in the huge gym room.  I couldn't decorate in there, but I did have water bottles with Disney labels and name stickers on them for when they got thirsty.  They then came over into the party room for some party food!

Disney Party Decorations

I was able to decorate the party room, but as I didn't have a long time to set up I tried to keep the decorations quite simple.

Disney Party Food

Surprisingly I decided not to go for themed food (there were so many possibilities, but after doing many birthday parties I have realised at ones like this that all the children run in and attack the food and the theming often gets a bit lost!) So we had:
  • sandwiches (ham, cheese and jam)
  • popcorn
  • vegetables (carrots and cucumbers) and hummus
  • fruit (strawberries and blueberries)
  • raisins (I did find the Disney Kitchen Incredibles ones!)
  • Disney Kitchen snacks (mini crackers, biscuits and fruit bars)
  • juice bottles
  • cookies (Oreos, Jammie Dodgers and Party Rings)
  • Mickey Mouse shortbread (I made these using a Mickey Mouse cookie cutter)
  • Princess Cake
  • Cupcakes with Disney Princess toppers

Disney Party Bags

I always have the most fun making party bags, and this party was no exception!

Ivy had such a lovely time at her Disney themed party, she dressed as Princess Aurora and even got to wear the tiara from her cake.  She was thrilled to be princess for a day and to share her special day with her friends.
