Summer Crafts for Kids

08:30

Summer is coming and we do spend most of our days playing outside, but this is England after all, so we do end up with our fair share of rainy days when we're searching for ways to keep busy indoors.  We love to do crafts and buy loads of our craft supplies from Baker Ross (and we're lucky enough to get craft kits to review from them as well).

This summer we'll be doing a lot of painting and colouring on our days in the house, and we've started already with these adorable Unicorn Ceramic Coin Banks that we painted using these Pebeo Porcelain Paint Pots.  The paints are so easy for the kids to use and they always get so excited when they get to paint any ceramics.  They each use their creativity to paint their unicorns in any way that they like.  And even though the unicorns aren't huge, I think that because they're something special and unique the kids really do take their time to paint them carefully and it challenges them to paint on a 3D item and get all around the corners and edges.

We've also been painting these cute Stand Up Wooden Boats.  We had fun playing with colours and mixing our paints together to decorate our little boats.  They'll be great to stick things onto as well and really personalise their wooden boats.

We've got a few other cute craft kits that we'll save for later this summer to keep the kids busy when we have rainy days.  They're going to love these Wind up Dinosaur Racers and these Cat Coaster Kits.
