Last Day of School Fun

11:33

Tomorrow is the last day of school, and things are always so hectic leading up to this day, but I still try to make it special for the kids with a few simple little traditions that can be easily prepared the day or even the night before!

A little sign and a card are a nice thing to wake up to on the last day of school, we use the same photo frame that we made by sticking small coloured pencils to a frame for all of our school related photos, so that is out as well as a light box sign (and of course our massive pencil from Ikea!)  I printed out some cute little cards and stuck a box of smarties to them last year, but I can't actually find the source of them (please let me know if you recognise them!) so this year I've used these cute Penguin Smartie Pants ones from Nothing But Country.

Of course we've also got to have a few photo props to take those all important last day of school photos to compare to the first day! (I can't find the link to these ones that we printed out last year, please let me know if you recognise them!)

Then we grab all of those lovely gifts that we've prepared and bring them in for the childrens' very hardworking teachers.  This year we have decorated some plain white bags which have a candle and a few other little bits inside and the children have coloured in these lovely bouquets that we printed out from Mrs Mactivity.

After school we usually go for a picnic in the park with lots of friends from school, it's chaos but the kids love it!  They play for a while and then we get ice creams and head home.

A few little summery gifts under a summer banner are perfect to come home to after that last day of fun.  Last year I printed out this cute pineapple Summer Banner from My Sister's Suitcase and this year I've gone for a watermelon Summer Banner from Hanna Nilsson Designs.  I've gone for similar little gifts this year with hula hoops, bubbles and water toys.  But I've also been into Smiggle and got them each a new notebook for keeping a journal over the summer!

What are your last day of school traditions?
