The Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel Game

08:30

It's Squirrel Appreciation Day on 21st January and we are celebrating by playing The Sneaky, Snacky Squirrel Game from Learning Resources to get ourselves ready!

The rules of the game are easy to follow, so it's easy to take it out of the box and start playing straight away.  The youngest player spins the spinner to find out what they will do first.  They will either get to choose a specific coloured acorn for their log, choose any colour, steal one from another player, miss a turn or have the wind blow away all of their acorns.

If they spin and earn an acorn they get to use the very special squirrel tweezers to pick up their acorn, which is fantastic for their fine motor skills.

They then place their acorn in their log and try to collect one acorn of each colour.  The first player to collect all of their acorns is the winner.  It's a great game for teaching turn taking and how to play fairly and not be a sore loser.  Ethan does get very upset when he loses any of his acorns, but he has so much fun playing the game that he does persevere.

It's such a fun game, you've got to try it!
