Rainbow Fruit and Dip

07:30

We love fruit, it's the one thing that I know that my two will eat even if they're refusing everything else.  But lately they have got into a bit of a fruit rut, only wanting to have the same few things over and over again.  So we decided to change things up a bit and eat a whole rainbow of fruit today!

Ethan helped with the whole process from start to finish, walking around the grocery shop looking for fruit of each colour of the rainbow.  He chose strawberries, apricots, apples, green grapes, blueberries and plums.  Then he helped me to wash it all and chop it up into small pieces.  Then we found some colourful cups to match each of the fruits to and Ethan put them all inside.

As a very special treat I made a fruit dip to go with their rainbow fruit platter, something that they've never had before.  They both love to dip veggies in hummus, so I was pretty sure that fruit dip would be a hit.  Of course I also wanted it to be healthy and simple, so I just mixed together some plain Greek yogurt and some natural peanut butter and that was it!

Ethan and Ivy especially were very excited to be having their rainbow fruit and dip after their dinner one night.  Ethan happily ate each of the fruits in the rainbow cups and Ivy was just obsessed with the dip!  She kept dipping the same strawberry in again and again, and by the end was absolutely covered in dip!  But it definitely was a success and we'll be trying the rainbow food technique again!
